40s Tilt Hat in Taupe Wool With Veil and Feathers – Better 。This is a beautifully made brown felt hat from the fashionable 1940s\'. The front of the tall crown is creatively gathered, and there is really no brim. There are amazing brown/oragne tall feathers to complement this elegant look, plus a half veil. The veil is very long, and ties at the back, streaming down. The hat is supposed to sit on top of the head. There is an elastic band attached to the inside of the hat to keep it in place The wartime 40’s saw a huge variety of hats that were suitable for any face shape, hairstyle or personal preference. Throughout the war & on both sides of the Atlantic, elaborate creations brightened dreary utility fashions, brought about by rationing. The only items not rationed were hat materials. Explosions of feathers, veiling & artificial flowers were popular. There is only a size 23 label. Please keep in mind that you are buying a vintage hat, not new nor perfect! This is an authentic piece of fashion history! This hat is in wonderful vintage condition & has been lovingly preserved among over 1300 vintage hats we have collected for 40+ years.
